چکیده
Grassland conservation of the Conservation Stewardship Program in United States (US) is one largest cost-sharing initiatives for protecting grazing land from invasive and woody plants. The practice cost unit size various plant management strategies, such as mulching, brush management, prescribed burning, are different state to state. We aimed compare examine association between ($/acre[ac]) standard (acre) burning strategies nine US Great Plains states, including Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Texas, Wyoming. estimated state-level average using payment data Natural Resources Service (NRCS) determine a cost-minimizing strategy. A linear regression model was used understand states. Practice differ by strategy In costs less on ($29/ac) than mulching ($222/ac) ($152/ac) but covers larger area (239 acres/unit) (3.19 (132 acres/unit). From results, we also find significantly negative (Coef. = -0.18, p<0.05). For lower -148.70, p<0.00) reference category mulching. Our findings imply policy idea that could be high-coverage managing invasion under existing cost-unit framework. Alternatively, expanding typical sizes small covering another option further assessment.

The possibility of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by ruminants using improved grazing is investigated by estimating GHG emissions for cow-calf farms under light continuous (LC), heavy continuous (HC) and rotational grazing, also known as multi-paddock (MP), management strategies in Southern Great Plain (SGP) using life cycle assessment (LCA). Our results indicated a GHG emission with t...
